ACFS Learning & Development Programme purpose is to realise the educational rights of all children, including those who are most vulnerable, through after school’s academic support and inclusive centres of learning care and support. Through our work, children and young people feel connected to those around them, develop a sense of belonging to their local, national and global communities and take action to create welcoming, kind and connected communities for Education enrichment. ACFS Community Education also offers free early childhood development services to our beneficiaries. The services range from grade RR to grade R these are children between the ages of 3 – 6 years of age. ACFS understand that educating our children beneficiaries is an important task that we all share as the organisation. It is our responsibility to ensure that our children’s beneficiaries have the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in life and future.
We do this by providing them with a quality education in our centres by providing them with a strong foundation in basic skills, such as reading, writing, and math, Toy libraries, computer skills and homework support. We also help them develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills. In addition, we expose them to a variety of cultures and perspectives, and help them develop a strong sense of civic engagement. Educating our children beneficiaries is not just about academics. It is also about helping them develop their social and emotional skills and we can this by teaching them how to resolve conflict, how to manage their emotions, and how to build positive relationships. We can also help them develop a sense of self-worth and confidence. We know as the organisation that education our is a lifetime investment future for our children, by investing in our children’s beneficiaries we are investing in the future of our communities and our nation.
