Jubilation at annual inter-club competition

hspace=20There is one time of year when every one of our club members - mothers grandmothers aunts - and a few men too - meet in a spirit of fierce competition.

This is the day on which their best  hand-crafted items are put on display and a sense of anticipation and pride fills the church hall in which the competition takes place.

In addition to handcrafts trophies are awarded in the categories of nutrition; health education and food gardening. Entries in the respective categories were evaluated by Nestlé; the Gauteng Department of Health; the Food Gardens Foundation and the Gauteng Department of Education.

Jabavu Club scooped first prize with Meadowlands second and Pimville third.

First Aid Certificates were also awarded to 20 students who successfully passed their first aid course. This is a proud moment for these learners who have all passed matric but could not afford to study further. In the past students who earned their first aid certificate with ACFS have gone on to find work and we wish our latest graduates every success.
