Come rain or shine, donations from firends like you help us fill empty tummies

Hunger doesn’t pay any regard to school holidays – and that’s why ACFS doesn’t stop feeding children during school holidays.

The only difference to our service during holidays is that the children being fed by our scheme come to collect their daily sandwiches and milk from the feeding centres with their siblings or parents.

And thanks to the support of friends like you, our bakkies still drive to remote areas to deliver food daily and families also receive their monthly food parcel.

We always try to make the Easter and Christmas holidays a little special, and that’s made possible when thoughtful donors send in gifts of sweets and goodies.

This past Christmas, a group of friends went to great lengths to show our children a good time.

Mrs Ronli Cohen, assisted by the Junior and Mini Councillors and Hearts of Gold group, organised a Christmas party at Auckland Primary School. We had eight busloads of excited children – a whopping 520 little ones – transported to the school from many different centres.

At the end of the day, each child was given a new school bag filled with party treats and some little toys. Of course, the organisers also ensured the children were well fed. They were treated to cookies, juice, fruit and hot dogs throughout the day: making for happy hearts and bulging bellies!

Thank you – for everything you do – to make sure our children are well fed, all year round!
